A client sits down for her lash lift, glances in the mirror, and asks the question you can see coming from across the room: "While I'm here... could you do my brows too?" The short answer is yes. A lash lift and a brow lamination can absolutely be done in the same appointment, and in my salon that's exactly how every combo service runs. You may have read online that the two "should be done separately." That isn't how Elleebana teaches it, and it isn't how I work. Here's how I plan a combo visit so both areas get the attention they deserve.
Which systems work for a combo?
Both Elleeplex Profusion and Brik & Pearl are built for lashes and brows, and both teach a combined lash and brow service. Pick the system that suits the client in front of you, and you can run the whole appointment with it.
One Shot is a little different. It's a lashes-only system, so if One Shot is your go-to for a client's lashes, the brow half of the appointment uses Profusion or Brik & Pearl instead. Not sure which system fits which client? My post on whether you need more than one lifting system walks through it.
Consultation covers both areas
A combo isn't a shortcut on the prep. Everything you'd do before a lash lift, you do for the brows as well:
- Patch test ahead of the appointment, following each product's directions, and keep your signed client record and indemnity form on file.
- Check contraindications for both areas. Healthy lashes don't tell you anything about the skin under the brows, and vice versa.
- Talk through the result she wants for each. Lashes can carry a more dramatic look. Brows sit on the skin and frame the whole face, so they usually call for more restraint.
That last point matters more than people think. (Nobody has ever left my chair saying, "I just wish my brows looked more surprised.")
Treat lashes and brows as two separate services
Same appointment, same system, but not the same hair. Brow hair is often shorter, can respond faster, and sits right on the skin. So I assess the lashes and the brows separately and set each one up on its own terms: its own timing, its own placement, its own finish. I also run a separate timer per eye and per brow. Four timers sounds like a lot until you've tried keeping it all in your head. Let the timers do the remembering.
In Elleebana's combined service, the lashes go first, then the brows. Be gentle with your applicator on the brow skin; going softly there helps avoid dry, flaky skin after the lamination. And whatever the timing chart says, let your flex and set checks on each area make the final call. My post on why timing makes or breaks a lift or lamination goes deeper on that. If your room runs warm, my post on heat and lamination is worth a read too, because a long combo appointment gives heat more time to do its thing.
The full step-by-step order and hand technique are hands-on skills, and they're exactly what a combined course teaches. More on that below.
Adding tint to the appointment
Lots of clients want color with their combo, and it's one of the easiest ways to make the result pop. When and how you tint after a lift or lamination has its own rules, so I wrote a whole post on it: can you tint right after a lash lift or brow lamination?
Aftercare is simpler than you'd expect
Here's the nice part: lashes and brows share the same critical window, the first 24 to 48 hours. One set of instructions covers both, which means one conversation at the end of the appointment instead of two.
- Water is fine. Showering and washing her face are fine.
- No swimming in pools, the ocean, hot tubs or spas for the first 24 to 48 hours.
- No steam rooms, saunas or excessive heat during that window. (Steam and a fresh lamination are not friends. They never will be.)
- No makeup on the lashes or brows for the first 24 to 48 hours. Regular mascara waits the full 24 to 48 hours.
- Conditioning can start straight away. Elleeplex Advanced Aftercare can go on immediately, and daily conditioning keeps both lashes and brows in good shape between visits.
One difference between systems: after a Profusion lift, Elleevate Lash Lift Mascara can go on right away. After Brik & Pearl, no mascara of any kind for the first 24 to 48 hours, Elleevate included. For laminated brows, Elleefix Brow Styling Wax is a nice one to send home once she's past the setting window.
Booking the next one
Lashes and brows don't always come due at the same time, so check both before you book the follow-up. My post on how soon you can safely relift lashes or redo a brow lamination covers the timing for each.
Want to learn the combo properly?
If you'd like to offer lashes and brows together, a combined course is the way to learn the full order and technique in one go. The Online Elleeplex Profusion Lash & Brow Lamination Combo Course includes two live Zoom sessions with me, and the In-Person Elleeplex Profusion Combined Lamination course is hands-on in the room. Either way, you'll leave knowing how to run both services side by side with confidence. (And how to say yes to that "could you do my brows too?" question without panicking about your schedule.)
